Chinese ink painting and calligraphy are strongly related to each other. One of the reasons is that the way of handling the brush contains same strength. For example, when writing a dot can compare with drawing a petal of a flower; writing a horizontal stroke can compare with drawing a bamboo stick; writing a horn stroke can compare with drawing a piece of grass or bamboo leaf.
In this workshop, we will draw plants which live around the river-side, also some small rocks. Afterward, with the same mothed, we will practice the Chinese characters which contain similar strokes of the drawing.
